Day X Giveaway
Day 10. Its a surprise! Enter if you don't mind a lucky dip. Know this though - there will be books, Venezuelan chocolate, and other equally worthy contenders of your time. But to win - let us know the best stocking filler gifts and the prizes could be yours. Good luck!
the best stocking fillers are the ones that my girls and I sit down and make with love each tailored to each person's taste, be it cross stitch, a favorite framed picture decorated, something that the shows love, thought and time we put into the gift - we are a crafty lot here
ReplyDeleteOur stockings were often filled with bits and bods the kids needed for school. Sata bought these gifts and we as parents bought the bigger gifts. A new lunch box, drink bottle, coloured pencils etc. The kids loved these as they were often themed which was doubly exciting.
ReplyDeleteDepends on the person...for Dad (the Chef), exotic spices and a Theo Chocolate bar. For Mom (the Note Writer), a new pen and stationery and a Theo Chocolate bar. For my brother (the Boy Who Never Grew Up), Hot Wheels and a Theo Chocolate bar. For anyone, a Theo Chocolate bar. :)

Depends on the person, their sex, their age, their interests but one choice that suits all is definately chocolate.
ReplyDeleteStockings should always be personalised, that's what makes them special. No stocking is complete without a good book, a chocolate to enjoy on a sleepy Christmas afternoon and a special gift just for that person.
ReplyDeleteHubby – a good war story, a nutty chocolate and a remote control helicopter. (Hubbies never grow up.)
Eldest daughter – a good mystery, fruit and nut chocolate and a challenging jigsaw puzzle.
2nd eldest daughter – A Bryce Courtenay novel, Turkish Delight chocolate and Earth-friendly, natural make up.
Only son (6) – A book about dinosaurs, chocolate-coated red licorice and a wooden fire engine.
2nd youngest daughter (5) – A book full of ghosts (she loves scary stuff), white chocolate and a kaleidoscope.
Youngest daughter (2) – A book of fairies, a marshmallow centred chocolate and a spinning top.
How can you not love the colourful, cute looking Macarons! A flavour each for my stockings, please? Nom! Nom! Nom! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNo stocking is complete without either something handmade or something edible! Or both: how about a homemade bar of chocolate mixed with gluhwein spices?
ReplyDeleteI notice chocolate is definitely a running theme in all the answers :)
We always put a fruit/lolly bag in each stocking (great for munching on through the morning)and we include a gift card and for the older girls some jewellery (not expensive)and for the boys usually a small Lego set/figurine.
ReplyDeleteNo stocking is complete without food and stationery. Some munchies to keep the energy levels high for all the stress and excitement of Christmas day, and pencils, paper and so forth to create with when the festivities get to be too much and some quiet time is needed.
