Halfway through the giveaway fest and day 6 is back to the books thanks to the lovely team at Allen & Unwin. Think Bourdain's latest foodie read Medium Raw,Heston's cookbook (its for home cooks, no really), a copy of Kitchen Coquette and a delightful zine called Spoonful. Hit the kitchen/beach/cafe/random locale armed with some reads or fill some stockings for Xmas gifts. To win tell us your favourite place to read and why.
My favourite place to read is in bed at night. Whatever time I go to bed, I always read for at least half an hour. It's a great way to leave the activities of the day behind, relax, immerse myself in my book and then sleep tight!
ReplyDeleteLove foodie books, Kitchen Coquette sounds cool and I love Heston but I'll believe that one's for home cooks when I see it LOL
ReplyDeleteI'll read anywhere, anytime but my all time favourite place is snuggled up in bed. 2nd favourite is listening to an audiobook while doing the housework and 3rd is on a lilo in the pool, especially with the hot as weather we've been having :)
Just to find a place to read at all is a bit of a luxury. Any place warm and quiet will do me. Yes, it tends to be the bath these days.
ReplyDeleteIn the backyard on my lounger, on a nice calm day with a cool drink and my puppy playing in the grass....bliss....
ReplyDeleteI love going to this great big grassy hill in a park near my house and lounging about for hours reading my book. It's quiet and peaceful and the perfect way to relax.
ReplyDeleteBest place to read - oddly enough would be the fast food restaurant at the airport - nursing an ice cream cone and plied with lots of sugary soft drink to keep the energy level up.
ReplyDeleteLounging in a hammock on a warm summer day with a thermos of peach tea. When I was a kid it was sitting about 15ft up in a tree...wish I could still skitter on up there now! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love reading on the train, because it makes my one and three-quarter hour commute whiz by, like it were only thirty minutes!
ReplyDeleteIn the bay window on a sunny afternoon, reading and watching the world go by. It's the perfect place for escape to another world!
ReplyDeleteOn the sun lounge during the day, Under an umbrella to avoid the sun' s ray, At night, Bedtime delight.
ReplyDeleteSoaking in a bubble bath with a bottle of chilled white wine... for uninterrupted hours.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have to think about this one. It's not just my favourite place to read, but my favourite place and time of the day. After the kids are tucked into their beds and fast asleep, hubby and I love relaxing in bed with our novels. It's so peaceful and relaxing. And despite us being in two different worlds (because we've disappeared into our novels) we're really close because we're sharing our favourite time of the day.
