And let the giveaways begin. Want to win a case of Debortoli mixed wines? Tell us your favourite drop from this Yarra Valley great and maybe even what you like to eat with it.
I'm a fan of all things Pinot and I love the Gulf Station Pinot Grigio, which goes well with a chicken, sesame and snow pea salad that I found in a Donna Hay cookbook (credit where credit is due, I guess).
My absolute favorite is the Sacred Hill Cab Merlot. We usually polish it off with a meal of BBQ T-Bone steak with a bbq vegetable stir fry of zuccini, red peppers, asparagus, mushroom and onion....beautiful! :)
Thanks for the wine/foodie blog. I am a rose devotee. I have a few local favourites and also the DeBortoli dry rose - Windy Peak. As a vegetarian I go for heaps of fresh summer salads and fresh sour dough bread with olive oil and dukkah. Happy summer days.
I love the De Bortoli Prestige Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. It is wonderful in summer with some delicious antipasto including the best Italian cheeses I can afford!
Noble One without a doubt. The best dessert wine I've ever had. Always with sharp stilton, quince paste and partial frozen grapes. I'm off to the shops right now....
There's nothing better than long lunches with friends, accompanied by a bottle (or three) of the Yarra Valley Reserve Chardy. Nothing 80's about this one- it's delicious, and versatile enough to be matched with endless flavours. Love it.
I love Windy Peak Pinot Noir - very partial to a lovely easy to drink quality Pinot Noir. Try this one with a good pasta dish maybe lasagne vege or meat :)
Windy Peak Nouveau Shiraz goes beautifully with duck pasta that uses vermicelli noodles instead of traditional wheat pasta, which is too heavy. It's also gluten free – a must for my daughter and I!

ReplyDeleteRococo Rosé is a perfect mate for Mango and Prawn skewers.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Rococo Rose girl. It may be less fashionable, but it's delicious (and pretty!)
